Lovely work dude!

Since it's become kinda traditional I have one very minor crit....The background tree trunks seem a little too sharp...the light coming through them would be more difuse, softening their outline somewhat.

Everything else is perfect though...this is such a sweet illustration I feel kinda mean criticising it...but you know I can never resist busting your balls when I can!!...sorry!
:)

Awesome skills :) I still hope, that talent is only few % of whole art work, and one day I migth be close to this skill level.

Finally!
It took you to long!
Well, well… let's see… I like stage 2 better then the first one, it has more depth to it.
Great expression on the tree… so old and tired, looks like he's been there for ages.
It looks like he is watching the butterfly on the mushroom, and it makes him remember something that happened many years ago (or maybe he's just jealous of it's youth ;) ).
everything else is also very nicely drawn.
My only crit (and it was hard to find one) is the white area in the background.
There should be more contrast between it and the grass (or whatever it is that the little guy walks there). I guess you wanted to create a some sort of "fade away" effect, but I don't think it works to well (but hey, what do I know ;)).
I hope there will be a "stage 3".
By the way... awesome work (thumbup)

Lots of wonderful depth! i really like the shapes of the negative and postive space the trees make in the background :) Lots of nice details in the tree in the foreground. Love how the tree's roots make him look like he has a killer beard (thumbup) Great value range as well!

I really wish trees had visible faces. Texture with the paper works so well with your style of work.

i hope this doesn't sound odd (I love drawing trees myself) but your rootwork is outstanding :)

Beautiful details as always. Love the tree face.

Avatar loneorbit

 10/29/06 @020

Nice perspective from just behind the mushroom and butterfly as we look upon the person walking along path. Positive verses negitaive space are being taken care od quite well, most evident in space left beside tree near left side. Details are in general handled well, only concern is that grassy area just below path as it rounds bend could be slightly darker in order to hold position of path in alignment. Well done.

One thing that bothers me personally is the texture of the paper wich is to heavy to me...
